Host pgm call uses Subset to get parameters

What I would like is when a tab is selected that will call a host pgm a Subset window will allow you to dynamically enter the parameter values you want.
For example, I have a comment file on the iSeries that has 2.8 million records and it is NOT in a format that works well in Power Link. There are over 50 comment types that are currently being used. I want to prompt for the comment type or date range and pass these to the host pgm allowing me to stage just the records they are looking for.
