What many larger companies, including all firms subject to audits, require is a means to promote Enterprise Integrator items from one system to another.

Here the developers are not permitted to work on the production system. So this work must take place in a development APAR or a separate i5. Once complete and approved for production those objects should be movable to the production environment without moving "other" in development objects.

In short a selective export / import function is needed.

Such a function exists in "Business objects" (Integrator) using "File - Export Business objects" to a PC file, and then import that on the target system.

That works normally fine, but what is missing is some sort of integration possibility to a Change control system like Aldon LM(i) or other.
