Unique attribute from client

Postby jdiggs » Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:14 pm

We have several green screen programs that use the workstation as the key to routing a spooled file to different printers depending on where the job was run. I would like to replicate this effect in PowerLink. Is anyone aware of how to retrieve a unique attribute that can be associated with the client when a user exit runs?

I was able to get the IP address of the client using the QMHRCVPM API. I read through the job log messages until I encounter one with the text 'from client'. I then parse the IP out of the message text. This works but is prone to failure when the joblog of the PowerLink session wraps as happens to me frequently when I work with user exits in Integrator.
